We also stop at the Belem Tower, the construction of which allowed expanding the boundaries of the city beyond the castle of St. George. Those who wish can taste “pasteis” pastries, that became a symbol of Lisbon, and a first factory for their production still exists in Belem and keeps the secret recipe of this dessert for more than 170 years.

Along the picturesque bank of the Tagus river, we will return to the center of Lisbon, to Alfama where the national romance fado was born. We will go to the Cathedral Sé, the first Catholic center of Portugal, where the Portuguese still attend Sunday service.

We will go down to the Baixa area, built after the devastating earthquake in the 18th century, cross the Commerce Square where the penultimate Portuguese king was killed, we will admire the 25 April bridge that connects Lisbon to the south bank of the Tagus River and the statue of Jesus Christ. We will pass along the pedestrian street Rua Agusta and admire the French fountains on Rossio Square.
